Japanese Cultural Event and more

Image
Dear Prayer Partners, As you know, we hold many different activities at the Greater Tel Aviv Messianic Center and these enable us to meet real needs, lower the barriers to the Gospel and help us connect with our local community. During the events, we always have the opportunity to meet new people, encourage believers and even share the Gospel, as the Lord leads.  We find that music brings people together! Along with our free English classes, Bible Studies, prayer meetings and other ongoing activities, these larger events widen our reach out into the community of believers and non-believers. We have found these events to be easy to develop and very worthwhile for building solid Messiah-Centered relationships. We appreciate your prayerful support for this ministry and for our ability to share the Gospel in Tel Aviv. Worship Night .  In December we had a lot of events that met various needs. Our worship night event was intended for believers and we had a great turn out.  The Mu

Korean Cultural Event!

Image
Last week, we had an amazing event! Korean Cultural Night The story started this summer in New York City, when a Korean pastor in Brooklyn spoke to our Shalom New York ministry team. One of our Israeli staff was there and after the meeting he spoke to the Pastor about his upcoming trip to Israel. During the conversation and afterwards they plans to hold a Korean Cultural event at the Greater Tel Aviv Messianic Center. The event had authentic Korean food, singing and dancing in traditional Korean attire and even some history of Korea!  We were not sure how well attended this event would be. It turns out that there is a huge interest in Asian cultures! We had around 90 people come, including the ministry team of Korean Americans. We also had some amazing help from Koreans living in Israel! Together these team effort led to an amazing impact on those who came. We were surprised to see so many non-believers come to this event. Many were especially touched by the testimony that

November Update

Image
Dear Ministry Partners, Since our last eNewsletter we have had some amazing adventures.  In August we went on a long journey to the United States. We drove thousands of miles over the course of seven weeks. We spoke at least a dozen times in various churches. We had the priviledge to reconnect with many of the people who pray for us and support us. Some of the highlights we will put in pictures below.  It was a very blessed time for us. The kids travelled so well and were such a blessing for us!  We were so encouraged by the warm welcomes and meaningful quality time we got to spend with our friends, family and ministry partners.  Of course the time our boys got to spend with their cousins was extremely precious. Cousins at the Zoo Within 24 hours of returning to Israel we were already busy with the first major Fall Ministry event. It was a large banquet to celebrate the Feast of Tabernacles. This event was a huge success as many non-believers came and had the chance to hear

We landed!

We hit the ground running when we landed in the USA on August 22nd.  After about 24 hours in the country we drove up to Detroit Lakes, MN to visit a wonderful church. They treated us so amazingly and we were so blessed by their love and care. Jason was able to teach in their Sunday school class about how Messianic Prophecy separates our fact based faith from other religions and proves that God is real and that Jesus is the Messiah. Now that we are in the USA, we are thrilled to be able to teach the Bible, share about our ministry in Israel and answer many the many questions that people want to ask us face to face. We have had a precious time with Grandma and Papa (Jason's parents), who are so thrilled to meet and hold Gidon (3yrs old) for the first time. They love having the noise of five active boys running around their house! We are so blessed that we were able to come as a family this time and would appreciate your prayers for us as we travel around the center of the

Sharing the Gospel at Biblical Sites

Image
Sharing the Gospel with Israelis at the Site of a Biblical Event. We are always looking for new strategies to share the Gospel in a way that lowers the barriers to the Gospel and indirectly addresses the common misconceptions. One of the biggest common misconception is that the Bible is just a dusty old book of Jewish mythology. Most secular Israelis respect the Bible, because it is an important Jewish work, but they don't necessarily see the contents as historical, relevant or significant. In fact, most have never read it. We want to find ways to bring the Bible to Life! It might sound strange, but in the land where most of the Biblical events occurred, the majority of native Israelis rarely visit Biblical sites and don't know much about them.  Not long ago, a colleague brought his Jewish family to Israel and took them on a tour of the country. At the end, one of his family members said that she has never read the Bible, but after this trip she is eager to read the Bib

Prayer Requests

Image
Prayer Requests for the Rose Family Dear friends, we would like to ask for your prayer for the following: Please pray for Jason's preparation . Jason's final Oral Exam before a committee was officially scheduled for August 1st . In the past we thought it would be July 21st, but that was a misunderstanding. The Exam will take between 15-45 minutes. Jason will start giving a detailed presentation, which they will stop usually at the one minute mark. At that point, they will begin to ask him questions to test his knowledge. We would appreciate your prayers as Jason prepares for this all encompassing exam.  Please pray for our English Camp . Janice and Jason are working together with a great team to host a English Language Day camp for kids this week. Pray that all of the kids come and that the parents send in their permission slips. Please pray for the preparation and especially for our amazing interns who are running this project. Pray for no injuries, for lots of fun

Ministry Update!

Celebrating recent Birthdays! We celebrated the recent birthdays of Shimon (9), Binyamin (7) and Gidon (3) with one big party this week. We were so blessed to have so many of their close friends come to our apartment. With so many kids, we expected a lot of altercations, but these were great kids and behaved so well!  We were really impressed but how much fun they had without any problems. One of Janice's good friends made each boy a special cake with their favorite colors and characters! Such talent! For two of them the birthday party was quite delayed because of logistics, but it was great for them to share a party! The kids had a great time, and the parents also had an amazing time too as they got caught up with each other. We love hosting these kinds of events in our home! This week's Big Summer Hurrah! This week we will have two larger events and these will nearly close the summer for us. On Tuesday, we will hold a concert with two very talented musicians. One is
