Prayer Request: Thursday Cafe Night

Dear friends, As you probably know, every Thursday Night we have a Cafe Night with free lattes and live music. This week our musician Jacqueline Weiner will be coming again. She has an amazing ability to draw a few non-believers every time. Sometimes they are very interested in hearing about our faith. Please pray for the people that come this week. We are trusting in the Lord to plant some good seed! ~ Jason Rose

Prayer Request - Housing

Our current apartment building PREVIEW:  We are debating whether to move or not but hoping that the owners of this rental apartment will commit to fixing the mold issue. Background In 2015, when we moved to Ramat Gan, we were very certain that this apartment was the right one for us.  It was a large, three bedroom apartment with a pink bathroom. If you don't recall why the PINK BATHROOM is significant, you can read that post here.   After nearly three years, we have had a few bumps along the way, but the apartment actually became an amazing blessing. It is literally a three minute walk to work! This means that the entire family can participate in a lot of ministry activities, even some that go late. After three years, we are now debating whether or not we should move. There are two reasons why we are considering moving.  The FIRST reason we are praying about relocating is because this apartment does not have a parking spot. There is on street parking, but ther

Young Adults Events

Recently, we had a wonderful event with several not-yet-believers. This event was special because it was a "Sushi Night" and included a seminar on how to make sushi.  Our three oldest kids were so blessed to make their own Sushi Dinner!  We had lots of sushi rice... double what we expected and we used it ALL!  People really loved the event. There was a time of fellowship. Two testimonies were shared by our Japanese friends. It was a spectacular event!

Visiting the USA

Image
Every year I travel to the USA to teach on a variety of subjects. This year, I was asked to speak mostly about the Passover, which I love to do!  It was difficult traveling alone and leaving Janice and the boys behind in Israel. By God's grace they managed well but were very glad to have me home after almost three weeks in the USA.  I'm grateful for the many amazing people who prayed for these events, gave financially and provide a place for me to lay my head!  We always hope that at these meetings people will want to dig deeper into God's word and grow.  Please pray that God will use these experiences to draw people closer to Him.

Silence...

Image
As I write this update, it is the Israeli version of Holocaust Memorial Day.  One of the things that I find fascinating and very moving is the tradition here of standing for a moment of silence.  Because the Holocaust was such a horrendous event in human history and due to the fact that nearly every Jewish family was affected by the heinous crimes committed during the Holocaust, Israelis honor their memory for two minutes every year. There is something unique and moving when an entire country stops to remember.  Below is a link to a news article which contains a few videos from today's moment of silence. http://www.jpost.com/Israel-News/IN-MEDIA-Israel-stands-still-for-Holocaust-Remembrance-Day-549582 It's important for us to teach our children about the Holocaust, so I asked my wife and kids to join me out on the streets today. I wanted our children to see the solidarity that we have as a country. I'm not going to go into the family history except to say that our fam

Purim Celebrations

Image
By God's grace we had two wonderful events to celebrate that Biblical holiday of Purim (book of Esther). Everyone, including adults, dresses up, usually as heroes like Esther, Mordecai or Superman.  This holiday has become an important cultural holiday for children but for adults the Purim parties are less desirable for believers. We partnered with Yad Aman, a group of young adults that all come from a local area congregation and we put together a clean and safe alternative for young adults.  It was the only Purim Party in the entire area that was wholesome.  About 70 young adults came. By combining our resources with Yad Aman, we were able to put together a really beautiful and fun event. A couple of people even came off the streets to join us because we were having such a great time.  We were able to demonstrate how to have fun without dipping into worldly sins.  We had many activities, but Jason's favorite part was being the judge of the costume competition! The n
