The LEAK under the stairs We have had an interesting challenge this week in the renovations. I'll just start by saying, that since we are renting from a very good landlord, this problem is being taken care of by him. He responded immediately to our concerns by sending experts to investigate. So here's what happened. When we rented this facility, we knew that there was historically a problem with water near the entrance. It was explained by multiple people that the water damage to the laminate flooring was due to rain water flowing under the door. We needed to be sure, so we asked our contractor to remove the entrance stairs and find the source of the water damage. This was no small task. To get to the source of the problem required removing the wooden stairs, then removing the stone tiles and several inches of ceramic glue.
